Jimmy ODonnell is a member of The International Cinematographers Guild, has earned 2 Emmy Awards and numerous Emmy nominations over his 28 year career working as a professional Director of Photography in film & television production.

Jimmy's long and rich career brings an incredible amount of insight, wisdom and of course vision to every project he is involved in. He is extremely versatile and is comfortable working on large and small productions. With almost 30 years of industry knowledge and experience, producers & directors are getting much more than just a "shooter". No matter what the genre or type of production - ODonnells intuitive eye for lighting & composition always seem to just fit perfectly with the over all arc of any production.

Jimmy enjoys working on a wide range of projects. Working closely with producers & directors and ensuring that their vision comes across on the screen. His technical knowledge and expertise of both camera & lighting gear are just another one of many asset's that benefit any production that he is working on.

Jimmy prides himself with the crew that he surrounds himself with. He has very long standing relationships with some of the most talented Technicians, Gaffers, Grips, AC's, Utilities' & Sound men & women in the business.

ODonnell has worked on many projects that require a sensitive and delicate approach. His many years of working on numerous children's shows (Sesame Street, Reading Rainbow, Bear in the Big Blue House, Blues Room ect. ) and documentaries that deal with drug addiction, homelessness, sexual, G,L,B,T, physically and mentally challenged individuals - all of these subject types and more have given Jimmy the patience, sensitivity and understanding to deal with just about any situation that may arise on any production.

Over the years, ODonnell has shot TONS of music related projects. Jimmy contributes his own skills as a long time musician in lending a huge hand in working with musicians and having a very natural rhythm & feel for shooting performances.

Jimmy has been working in production since his late teens getting his start in the business working in NYC at Rebo Studio. After starting at Rebo in 1983, ODonnell was fortunate enough to work with some of the best technical & artistic talent in the business. In 1986 Rebo became the first High Definition Production Company in America. Jimmy recalls that it was an amazing time.we were inundated with the most cutting edge equipment, talent of people and projects that took us all over the world - it was the birth & golden age of HDTV.
